Micafil Vermiculite Loose Fill Insulation (100ltr) is one of the simplest and most reliable solutions for fireproof chimney backfill and thermal insulation in cramped, awkward areas. This product is a premium-quality, coarse-grained vermiculite that we recommend highly as roof insulation when foam or earth wool alternatives can’t be fitted in the space.

Vermiculite is a naturally occurring mineral which has been heat-treated to expand it into ultra-light, air-filled, granules with a large surface area. The microscopic air pockets in the granules act as a barrier to radiated heat, giving this material its highly effective insulating properties.

Micafil is packaged in large, 100-litre sacks, covering around 1.067m3. The granules can be loose poured directly into the area to be insulated or transferred via a smaller bucket or jug. This material has no health or environmental risks, but its ultra-lightweight needs to be taken into consideration in windy conditions.
