Large oval ring with a superbly cut intaglio.

On the enlarged close ups there are slight scratch marks to the carnelian . These are not visible under normal conditions - see photos on the hand. 

Excellent weight with the back completely in gold- the carnelian only shows to the cut face. 

Marked 9ct and tested. The housing dates around 1880 -1900. The intaglio may be the same age or much older , impossible to tell as the housing has been made to fit the intaglio. 

Do look at the dimensions - this is a large ring.
