Dry grain mycelium of
Macrolepiota procera - 10 g

The mushroom cap initially starts as a spherical shape and is pale brown with a darker brown area near the crown that eventually breaks into scales. As Macrolepiota procera matures, the cap expands until it becomes flat with a small central bump called an umbo. When the cap is cut, its flesh remains white and doesn't undergo significant changes.

At maturity, the cap of Macrolepiota procera typically measures between 10 and 25 cm in diameter.

The gills of the Parasol Mushroom are broad, crowded, and colored white or pale cream. They are free and terminate some distance from the stem.

Macrolepiota procera has a smooth stem that is white or cream in color. The stem is adorned with small brown scales that often create a banded, snakeskin-like appearance. Inside the stem, you'll find tough, white, fibrous flesh that is loosely packed, and in some cases, the stem may be hollow.

The stem of Macrolepiota procera is bulbous at the base and tapers slightly towards the apex. Its diameter ranges from 1 to 1.5 cm (up to 2.5 cm across the bulbous base), and the stem can reach heights of up to 30 cm.

The mushroom doesn't have a distinctive odor, and its taste is sweet.
