The 1956 White Semi-Truck Tractor was manufactured by the White Motor Company, an American automobile, truck, bus and agricultural tractor manufacturer from 1900 until 1980. The 1956 model was part of the White 3000 series, which was introduced in 1952 and featured a cab-over-engine (COE) design. The White 3000 series was popular among truckers and was used for various purposes, such as hauling freight, transporting livestock, and towing trailers.
The 1956 Fruehauf tanker semi-trailer was designed to transport liquid cargo in bulk. Fruehauf was one of the first companies to introduce the tanker trailers for various industries, such as flour, milk, petroleum, and chemicals. Fruehauf also supplied the military with tanker trailers. The tanker semi-trailer was made of steel, aluminum, or stainless steel, and had compartments inside to prevent sloshing of the liquid cargo.
The Atlantis 1:48 Scale 1956 “Sinclair” White Truck & Fruehauf Gas Tanker Kit H1402 is a plastic model kit that was originally released in 1956 by Revell and reissued by Atlantis Models in 2020. It features a detachable trailer, a tilting front cab with a detailed engine and interior, a detailed chassis, opening gas compartment doors on the trailer, and two figures. The kit comes with markings for Sinclair and US Army gasoline tanker. It also includes clear parts for the windows. The model measures 10.75 inches long when completed and has 57 parts molded in green and clear. It is recommended for ages 14 and up and requires paint and glue, which are sold separately.
