[Found on the South Shore of Massachusetts, south of Boston, MA in a finely appointed early estate in Duxbury, MA. It remains untouched & as it was when it was removed from the home it was found in. There are no additions or subtractions & it appears other than perhaps being previously cleaned & oiled at some point earlier to reveal its surfaces, we or anyone still associated with the estate, have touched or altered it in any shape or form. The middle, hand forged, wrought iron tightening band appears to have been an old replacement for the previous, original middle iron tightening band & is made up of several pieces of flat iron stock. This replaced iron band appears to have been realized long, long ago. A fantastic early American & military artifact & relic of a nation on the cusp of independence. Wonderful.]
