This is an outstanding example of the finest work of the famous Faberge's Head work master - Erik Kollin c 1878. This is the glorious "Antonio Stradivarius Violin" miniature model, which contain a watch especially designed for it. It is hall marked with the Carl Faberge stamp, master's hall mark "EK" and with 84 silver mark. The watch inside is key wind in nice working condition with the double headed eagle of Faberge. The violin comes in brilliant mint condition and is from the great Erik August Kollin - the famous Faberge's master. Erik Kollin was born in Finland, where he completed his apprenticeship before travelling to St Petersburg. In 1858 he obtained a position in the workshop of the goldsmith August Holmström who had been appointed principal jeweler by Gustav Fabergé in 1857. In 1870 Kollin opened his own workshop. He was made Head Work master in the same year by Fabergé and held that post until 1886. Kollin is famous for his musical instruments miniature, like violins, mandolins...etc.
