Description

A Chi Wara headdress figure from the Bambara people of Mali. It is of an unusual small size, 13 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" wide, and includes, in the middle of the carving, what appears to me to be a snake figure. It has an appealing, un-touched surface. There is one clumsy glue repair midway up the body of the snake, but no other condition problems. Probably first half of the 20th century.
