Offered is the set of 3 FDCs "Pysanky"

In 2022, Ukrposhta launched the 10th issue of definitive postage stamps of Ukraine depicting Easter eggs of different regions of Ukraine. Pysanka (Easter Decorated Egg) is a cultural symbol of Ukraine, a unique work of folk art. Pysanka painting has ancient pagan roots. An egg, like a tree, was considered a symbol of the spring awakening of nature, the birth of life, and the continuation of the family kin. Since ancient times, on the territory of Ukraine, they painted eggs with magical signs associated with different beliefs: triangles, spirals, wedges, and swastikas, which were later transformed into ornaments. Depending on the decorating technique, the painted eggs were called krashanky, krapanky, shkryabanky, malyovanky and pysanky. The latter were painted with wax and dyes. Ukrainian tradition attaches sacred significance to the production of Easter eggs. Nowadays, Easter eggs are the centerpiece of the Easter ritual.

✔ 1st FDC is affixed with 2 postage stamps of face values "U" and "M" that feature images of Easter eggs of two regions - Lviv region and Vinnytsia region and open the new 10th series of standard postage stamps of Ukraine.

✔ 2nd FDC is affixed with 2  postage stamps of face values "H" and "T" that feature images of Easter eggs of two regions - Ivano-Frankivsk region and Hutsulshchyna region. 

Date of release -  21st of April 2023

✔ 3d FDC is affixed with 3 postage stamps of face values 

"L" - Odesa region, 

"F" - Volyn region and 

"X" - Chernivtsi region, Vyzhenka village.

The size of the envelopes is C6 (114 mm x 162mm)

The size of each stamp is 22 - 24,48mm
