25. Ellen Tracy White Cotton Dress with Black Edging.

Unworn, with tags attached, and in perfect condition. I just went off the style for me.

Size 14 label (please see measurements below).

This dress is 100% cotton. The fabric is white with a woven texture of minute squares and the V-neck, arm-holes, hem, and sash are edged in contrasting black, smooth cotton, about 7mm (1/8in) deep. The label says “black/ivory”, probably because it’s a natural white rather than the “arctic” white you get with synthetic fabrics like polyester. It looks white to me, anyway.

The skirt is gently pleated at the waist & has a curved, wrap-over style flap in front, also edged in black, which is actually stitched in place one side, so there’s no danger of any “gaps” appearing in the skirt. There’s a pocket in each side seam, too, which is useful. It’s fastened centre back with a concealed zip.

The sash is about 7.5cm (3in) wide & in two sections; both being stitched into the centre back seam. One is 91cm (36in) long and the other 109cm (43in) long, so a bow could be tied off-centre, if desired. Both sections taper to a curved point at the end and there is a sash guide loop of fine thread at each side.

Some measurements which may help (approximate, but as good as I can manage):

Dress length from centre back = 100cm (39in)

Skirt length from waist seam = 62cm (24+1/2 in)

Waist up to 81cm (32in)

Bust up to 91cm (36in).

Originally £79.00, I did pay a little less in a sale, but it is still good value, hopefully, at £20 for a smart dress that could be worn to a summer party or reception, but is not too grand for everyday wear.

Small parcel P&P.
