The piece, when the desk is up, is approximately 79" Tall x 34.5" Wide x 14" deep.
The triangular woodruff drawers are in great condition with only one with the internal mechanism functionality not working properly. There is a photo of the woodruff drawers which indicates the typical use of these drawers.
The Pull down desk area stay up securely and pulls down firmly. The Locking mechanism for the desk in the up position, that would have been present, is not present. That said, it is not needed to stay firmly in the up position.
While the table is in the up position all of the drawers are locked in place and cannot be removed until the center pull down desk is in the down position. This is by design.
This piece was used in the Blaine County, Idaho Courthouse from 1884 to 2021. There is a brass plate on the front indicates it was used in the original court house referring to the old courthouse in Hailey, Idaho which was built in 1883. Another Metal Plate on the front indicates that is is a Woodruff File Cabinet, Washington, DC with a Pat Pending Registration of April 29, 1884.
This piece is good condition for it to have been used in an active service for over 100 years. This piece was built to last. That said there are scratches and wear. The drawers are functioning except the lever on one drawer. The desk is functioning. All of the drawer pulls are present.
For shipping on this piece, I will need some extra time (a few weeks depending on location) to arrange and research proper shipping. If you are close to Idaho, I might deliver it myself. I am only going to ship to the lower 48 in the United States. If you live in another location, you will need to arrange shipping and message me prior to purchase. I am not adverse to sales in other areas, I just do not want to handle and arrange the freight or cost. However, I recommend contacting me prior to purchase regarding all shipping arrangements. I will allow Local Pickup and will negotiate a lower price if you come pick this up.
