Cholla wood is excellent to use in fish aquariums, as it has many benefits for both the animals and the water quality. Some of the benefits are:

As you can see, cholla wood is good to use in fish aquariums for many reasons. However, before you add cholla wood to your tank, you should prepare it properly by following these steps:

Cholla wood is the remnant of a cholla cactus after it dies. Cholla cactus wood has a lot of holes and is usually hollow in the middle, which is perfect for use in aquariums and for mounting air plants (tillandsia). We like the ‘desert patina’ that cholla develops as it ages, and so we only roughly clean our cholla (brushes, air pressure, and water), and do not treat our wood with any preservatives or chemicals. We leave it to you to finish the piece to suit your needs. Each piece of wood is different in texture, shape, pattern, and color.

These 3 pieces of cholla are each about 6” in length & 1” in diameter, and all 3 weigh 2.2 ounces.

Because the weight less that 8 ounces, shipping is very reasonable. We package very carefully, and usually ship the day we receive the order (except on weekends and holidays). We accept returns.

If you have any questions about these pieces, please send me an Ebay message.

A word about the photos, while the images are pretty accurate and true, they still might be a little off.

BTW, we are now including a FREE gift with cholla orders, our way of saying thanks.
