Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very cool 1960's model Aiwa DM-47 dynamic cardioid microphone with a very modern design and uber space age looks. It comes with the matching Japanese metal desk stand in which to mount and the original cable in which to operate.

The DM-47 was one of the most outrageous mic designs coming out of the Japanese markets of that era. The DM-47 was very cutting edge and the cardioid element was far superior to the standard dynamic models that were more commonly associated with Japanese mics.

This mic is set at high impedance so it lacks the heavy bass of the low impedance microphones but it's tone is very mid range and sounds incredible having great uni-directional characteristics.

This is an all metal design that is partially painted and partially chrome plated. The two tone black on white is striking and the original painted desk stand really compliments the mic. This will make an excellent microphone for dispatch and general purpose work. You can even sing with it if you like that old school "rockabilly" tone. The signal rate is 100% and there are zero issues with this mic. On / off switch works perfectly.

This model was sold under a few different Japanese manufactures including Aiwa, Olson and Monarch and was only offered for about 10 years before production was discontinued. It's a fairly large microphone as well that will draw attention anywhere it's displayed or used.

The mic has excellent black painted accents and the chrome is perfect. The mic shows an absolute minimum of wear as seen in the pics provided and I would rate the cosmetic condition a true 9 +++ on a scale of 1 - 10. They just don't come any nicer than this.

The lower pistol grip looks gorgeous and the label is completely legible. Threads for the stand and cable are perfect. The mic takes a unique smaller 3 pin cable and one is included. This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand though a stand is already provided.

The cable is appx 10 feet in length. Soft, pliable and free of damage. It has the standard male 1/4 inch end connector for use with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers.

The period / original Japanese mic stand is a beautiful accent piece. It's an all metal design that's paint and comes with a 1 1/2 inch chrome riser. Base is appx 4 inches wide X 4 inches deep X 3 inches tall and makes for a very stable platform. Stand with mic is appx 10 inches tall. The stand has 4 great pads on the bottom. Stand is a true 8 + on a scale of 1 -10.

If you are looking for something very unique in which to use on a daily basis...look no farther.
