  DESCRIPTION:
This mid to late 19th century, most likely German, antique silver reticulated wire filigree large shell form basin, with floral leaf applique design dessert serving spoon, is unmarked but was reportedly tested in the auction from where it was initially sold. It's most likely at least .800 silver, if not a higher silver concentration of a silver alloy. I won't make the claim that it's .925 sterling silver because I don't know and would be disingenuous to suggest that it was. It hasn't been touched and is complete, without deformities, dents, dings or distortion of its extremely delicate reticulated silver wire filigree. It showcases a shell spoon basin, twisted and incredibly delicate handle stem, with what appears to be rose leaves applied to the base of the spoon's neck and also at the end of the spoon's handle. There appears to be dusty white sediment present (perhaps silver polish paste residue) seen especially and even somewhat noticeably on the underside of the spoon's basin. This may have been silver cleaner. The spoon has not been touched, rinsed or otherwise disturbed. Very fine.
