A pair of stained glass panels, some cracked sections, leaded, currently in the original pitch pine door which unfortunately is in poor condition.
Age at a guess c 1870 ?
Each panel is arch-topped, max dimensions are 116.5 cm max i.e. to arch top x 23.5 cm wide.
The glass includes yellows, red, greens and blue as well as some circular swirls.
The door was bought from the large antique centre in Matlock many years ago and was cut down from its original height to fit a standard door size: approx 198 cm h x 77 cm w x 5 cm d
We were told that the door was one of a number originally from a church in Tansley, Derbyshire. It was probably not a great idea to use what was originally an internal door as an external one but it could possibly be salvageable. The glass is very attractive even with a crack here and there and I believe can be 'sandwiched' between sheets of glass in a modern door meeting current building regs.
Please get in touch if you'd like more photographs, it is quite hard to capture.
PLEASE NOTE THIS ITEM (the panels within the door) IS FOR COLLECTION ONLY: DE56 2BZ
