This is a wonderful antique Dutch 833 silver gilt miniature sedan box with a gilded lady holding a fan on the inside. The sedan has a light gold wash over the entire piece with some wearing to the silver. There is a circular latch that turns and opens the hinged door to reveal the lady sitting inside. There are two silver poles that move which are held in place by two rings attached to the sedan on either side. The piece measures 4 3/4" tall, 3 1/2" wide and the poles are about 6 1/4" long. It weighs 331.7 grams. The bottom bears the Dutch lion 833 silver mark along with the date letter "s" for 1902. There are also some pseudo 18th century Dutch hallmarks. The windows originally held glass. There are two little silver tabs missing from the inside that held the glass in place. This is a very unusual piece, a rare find. You will love it.
