Alexandria, South Dakota

This antique wall hanging is an advertising piece from Security National Bank in Alexandria, SD.  It's made of wood and has glass covering the artwork.  The wood measures 11 7/8" x 6 1/4".  The glass is 8 7/16" x 3 1/4.

The wood board has warped over time and isn't flat.  There appears to have been a calendar taped or glued to the front of the wood, centered beneath the artwork.  (You can see some adhesive residue.)  The thermometer actually still works and is fairly accurate.  The mercury moves up the thermometer from the rounded bulb at the base.  The lower-left corner of the glass piece has some damage.
