For sale is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, 1999, Scholastic, Advance Reader's Edition.

These books, commonly referred to as ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) were typically issued to book sellers, reviewers and editors ahead of a general release to the public. It is estimated that 3000 ARCs were produced for each of the first three Harry Potter books, however that number is likely lower since many of the original recipients would have discarded their copies ahead of the general release. ARCs are distinct from the Uncorrected Proofs published by Bloomsbury for the UK market.

Unique to the Prisoner of Azkaban ARC is the black and purple diamond cover art. As with the previous two ARCs (Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets) the Prisoner of Azkaban does not include the usual depictions of scenes from the book. This was due to the illustrator (Mary GrandPre) having not completed the cover art for when the ARCs were published, though this wasn't her fault as Scholastic brought forward the general release date of the Prisoner of Azkaban.

This copy appears unread and in near-fine condition. The spine remains uncracked and the front/rear boards are generally clean and vibrant. The minor exception being a slight discolouration to the mid rear board - shown in the images. Pages contents and page edges are clean throughout. No fading present to any of the book.
