Roman Imperial Hadrian bronze dupondius, 117-138 A.D., Sear (2000) 3660, R.I.C. 658, 9.2 gms, 25-27 mm. The obverse shows the legend "HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS", with the radiate bust of Hadrian to the right, with light drapery on the far shoulder. The reverse shows the legend " C   O  S  III" , with Pegasus to the right, about to take flight. The reverse legend is near the rim of the upper half, and spread unusually widely apart, with the " III", is near the bottom center. The surfaces are a mixture of dark brown, dark green to dark olive, with some bronze color showing on some of the high points of the designs.
