Up for sale are 2 solid bodied duck decoys. They were retired over 25 years ago. They both were produced in the city of Grand Mariais, Minnesota. I am selling some of my collection I obtained from my Uncle who resided in northern Minnesota. The first 12 photos are of the large duck. 11 photos of the smaller duck follows.
LARGE Decoy: Over the years this one had developed a split. You can see it in the photos. It has since been glued. This was originally a 2-piece body. The head is a little loose, but still solidly attached to the body. Both glass eyes are still intact. It measures 15 in. long, 5 7/8 wide and is 7 in. tall. It weighs 2 lbs., 6 oz.
SMALL Decoy: This was made of 4 pieces of wood. 3 for the body and the head. As you can see from the photos the head is removeable. I didn’t re-glue it back together. The buyer might want to turn the head for decoration purposes. There is a split on the bottom. Bothe glass eyes are intact. This one measures 13 1/4 long, 5 in. wide and is 6 3/4 in. tall. It weighs 2 lbs., 3 oz. This pair is a nice collectible piece of Minnesota history.
