Description

I have recently acquired lots from the sale of contents of a closed convent in Ireland. A lot of the items are 19th century period items and in very very good condition, having been stored or put away for many years.

This is a gloriously preserved plaster ware or chalk ware figure of St. Anthony. You will not find one so old in such fine condition. There is much fine detail - for instance in the faces or the fingers, Comes from an Irish convent that was closed, most likely made in Italy could have been made in Ireland though. In glorious antique condition, no chips nor flakes nor cracks just an age old patina. 13inch tall or 33cm and from the late 19th century.
