Antique Rihouet French Porcelain Demitasse Cup and 2 Saucers Turquoise Gold Trim Armorial Eagle with Owner's Initials F P Below.

These three pieces are by Rihouet from the early 19th century, a leading producer of porcelain, active in Paris during the first half of the 19th Century. The firm was founded by Louis Marie François Rihouet, who established himself in Paris in 1818 as a porcelain decorator. In the early 1830s, Rihouet moved his firm to the Rue de la Paix, where his operation expanded and continued to manufacture luxury porcelain until his retirement in 1853. During the period between the 1830s and about 1850, the addition of "Rue de la Paix" (Street of Peace) was added to the makers mark on the undersides of the pieces.

The initials F P are certainly those of the owner of the noble house where these dishes were part of the table furniture. I will continue to try and discover who the owner was. I thought it may have been the 14th President of the United States Franklin Pierce, but all I could find was his White House china pattern.

Condition: These three pieces are in very good condition considering they are approximately 200 years old. There are no chips or cracks, and no crazing. However, on the two saucers, the workmanship is not as refined as on the cup. Please see photos. There was a second cup that had a severe chip, so I left it behind.  If you need additional photos, please feel free to let me know.
