From my 93 year old Mother in Law’s doll collection is this Parian 21” German Shoulder Head doll. The dolls is dressed in a older antique lace and file dress with velvet ribbon trim. The dress needs cleaning as there are spots on the skirt. The antique ecru lace has some very small holes in the netting. there is a small brass flower basket sewn at the bodice. This dress does not show off the details of the shoulder plate, however, it does cover the cracking at the neck. Look carefully at the photo. My MIL has dementia and can not tell me about the doll. So I don’t know if this is a break that has been repaired or a crack… it does have one chip in the indention of the neck on the left side, so I lean to a repair. The lower arms have a 4 marked on the back side. The body has had extensive repairs. I personally would remove those what patches and repair with the same color cloth. The body has been stitched up numerous times. The doll wears an antique cotton lace edged slip. It is for a larger doll and was pinned over at the waist. The dress has a metal snap at the waist, but is pinned at the neck. She has mixer ankle tie shoes, and no stockings or underwear. She is quite beautiful with her soft blond Highland Mary hairstyle and delicately painted face. There is a large 6 impresses on the back of her shoulder plate. She is not marked Germany, but I feel quite sure she was made in Germany.
