2 of 2 Solomon Island wealth Shell money

Shell money is made from ground discs of shell that are then thread with fibre. Sections are separated with bars.  The discs are usually made on the island of Malaita. Certain shell money is made up also be worn as a body ornament like this example. 

Note this example incorporates some colored trade beads .  This example is in excellent condition.
