Over the last thirty years a number of ethusiasts realised that such films provided an untapped source of information on past techniques and methods At some time in the past it would have been rescued after being discarded as obsolete by the original owners .
Any money raised from the sale of this video will go towards offsetting the costs of more rescues.

0194 A copy made of a long destroyed BSA colour film feature entitled “Stars in Action !.
This would have been made for viewing by Motor Cycle Club audiences. No immediate clues to the date but I would put it at early post war but I cannot be precise. No doubt a good motorcycle historian could date the year buy knowing when the first event featured was held. After a few years it would have been withdrawn. By Chance I was permitted to purchase a copy from a film library which at that time had not destroyed their copy. The transfer which was done nearly 20 years ago has imparted a green tinge to the originally colour film . BSA were the Birmingham Small Arms Company but their initial commanded respect when found on the tanks of seriously competitive bikes in the era before Japanese and European makers Since that time The Film, The Film Library and BSA have disappeared leaving this reminder of motorcycling sport when riders were mainly enthusiastic amateurs and ant sense of Health and Safety was for some time in the future. Events covered included
13th Birmingham Victory Trial in February cantered on Long Mynd Shropshire. . Features sight of the various trials riders . Bill Nicholson Geoff Duke Solos and Sidecars . Winner Geoff Smith a BSA Rider.
March 6th Cotswold Clubs Trial Rodborough Glos Don Evans Royal Enfield this was another testing Trial course . Very musical background with a facetious commentary. Headgear was caps rather than helmets and I suspect dates from the late 1950s. Don Evans Wins.
