The February 14, 1777 issue was small with only $20 and $30 bills produced. The front of this note is typeset with interesting engraved boarders and a beautiful emblem featuring a man with a pack appearing to be exploring. The emblem is encircled by the latin motto “MISERA SERVITUS OMNIS” (All servitude is wreched). The reverse is quite plain with ornamental boarders and a Death to Counterfeit motto in the center. Very attractive example with bold ink throughout and large signatures. Incredibly clean appearance, possibly under-graded.
