Pair of 6 inch plus antique hand painted blue and white Chinese Ginger jars from the early 20th century. Unglazed rims, pale blue /white glazed porcelain both with with deep blue painted dragons, cherry trees and two harvesters with their baskets. Both jars retain their original porcelain covers. Insides are crude with bubbles and spotting. With the covers the jars measure approx. 6 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches wide at a graduated base. As these were to be used as utilitarian storage jars they remain in excellent condition with small firing imperfections in the original kiln process.  Beautiful pair from an old Western, Mass. homestead.
