This tooled leather belt and buckle are the epitome of 1970s American craftsmanship. The leather belt is tooled with flying eagles, mountains and trees by McCall in 1977. The belt is married to a solid brass buckle of a soaring American bald eagle made by artist Leoma Lovegrove 1979.

The 46" leather belt has not been worn, **it needs proper holes punched**.

Leoma Lovegrove apparently designed several different animal buckles in 1979 but this, of course, is the most fantastic (we think) as its the greatest American symbol there is (along with the Statue of Liberty and an apple pie).

This eagle buckle is highly detailed with soaring wings and extended talons as its about to land...on your belt. It measures 3 3/4 inches across by 3 inches high. The brass bar for the belt measures 1 5/8 inches wide.

The back is hallmarked...LEOMA LOVEGROVE 79 - SOLID BRASS. The buckle weighs 91.9 grams. Good weight. Great look. Excellent vintage condition. Can be polished up but we leave it to buyer to decide. Lovegroves buckles are rare as they were only made in 1979 and in small quantity.

This great piece of American art would make a meaningful Fathers day or groomsman gift.
