I have been selling off this vintage collectors pieces for 3 years now. This will be the FINAL price drop for at least 3 months.

Here we have a very rare gem of a guitar. One of 177 made in 1959 with even less mono models such as this guitar. The guitar is uncirculated and was purchased from a vintage guitar dealer in Manhattan 25 years ago. It has been kept in storage since then.

Cosmetically very clean for it's almost 64 years with just some very light checking throughout the instrument's surface. It is nothing short of amazing there is not 1 dent, or scratch really on the entire guitar. Just your normal very light surface pick scratching on the slightly warped incredible pickguard and really just light honest wear-aging from carefully handling the guitar. Sure the gold hardware is rubbing of on just about every piece of metal including the pole pieces on the PAFs.

There have been no repairs on the guitar. The binding shows a curve on the back upper side of the body that is near your chest that needs to be cut, reglued, and touched up a bit. There is 1 split in the fully intact binding seen in pictures along with a small dent in a pictured spot in the binding. I would have my top luthier repair that binding and touch it up a tad, but I want to sell the guitar as 100% original with no repairs. If you would like that piece of binding put back to the wood with just a line in the binding from the cut,, we can and will do that for you at no charge to you and done with total confidence. Maybe you prefer your special technician to do the work.

The original frets are all there with absolutely no visible wear and certainly no pitting. There is a black guitar strap mark on the back of the body strap pin that will not rub out easily and lo' and behold' a very miniscule chip in the surface and a few spec marks on the back of the neck are pictured. The top of the headstock has 1 little chip on the corner and a spec of a chip on the back by the same strap pin. At first glance these tiny blemishes slipped by me.

I hate getting so anal but I do not want any surprises when you get this guitar. It's not exactly cheap.

Finally I sat down with this 355 and she plays like butter, the PAFs are the sweetest and bold isn't the word. Perfection. A guitar players 'guitar' and then some. Amazing! What else can I say, we will squeeze out a video tomorrow.

Nut is 1 9/16". Neck has that almost 60's feel. Hey, it's a 59'. More neck specs tomorrow.

These kind of opportunities only come up a few times in life.

That brown Lifton case is in pretty darn good shape no issues. That Gibson hang tag is just too much.
