The painting ‘A Football Match’, Scotland vs. England, depicts a rugby match played in Edinburgh in 1886. The match was held at Raeburn Place on March 13, 1886. The game took place in windy conditions and was one of the earliest paintings of an England vs. Scotland Calcutta Cup game in history. The original painting was a collaboration between two artists, William Heysham Overend (1851–1888) and Lionel Percy Smythe (1839–1918). The original of this actual print is now exhibited in the World Rugby Museum at Twickenham.

To celebrate this painting, it can now be enjoyed by all rugby fans in their own private homes and settings. This rare collector’s piece has never been on commercial sale before, and it was launched 20 years after England Rugby won the Rugby World Cup in 2003. The following collector's piece comes with a certificate from England Rugby detailing the history surrounding this wonderful historical painting. The Giclee fine art print run provides a wonderful high-end finish that makes each print feel like the original painting.
