This auction is for the 2004 Gold label edition Barbie Fashion Model Collection Muffy Roberts Barbie doll, with original stock # H6465 in Mint in Box (MIB) condition! 

 

This ESTATE SALE consignment was previously owned by an adult collector.  Like most of the Silkstone dolls in our listings, the owner gave up on these dolls shortly after her purchase from the secondary market, leaving her boxed in a closet, unloved and unadmired.  Consequently for you, this doll is totally DEAD MINT and completely untouched, except for inspection.  Her tacking threads are intact, but some ribbons look to have been retied. 

 

The doll and her costuming are in factory flawless condition, as are her accessories: Stand, Certificate of Authenticity, Fashion Modeling Card and Original Care Instruction card.  This lovely lady with her Jet Black mid-length flip Do (unusual for silkstones) and strikingly bright lip and eye-shadow coloring cuts quite a striking figure in her shocking pink blouse with almost silvery, shark-skin like, gray woven suit with matching pink lining and gloves.  Her lapel pin is still bright and sparkly adding another punch of interest (as though this shade of pink were somehow dull) to put the ensemble over-the-top.  The jacket also has a corset-like closure over which a tied belt makes a pretty bow.  Further accents include black hose, sling-back heels, a matching black woven hat and furry muff, the latter being an odd detail even for a haute couture suit, perhaps as a nod to her nom de guerre.  The only negative thing regarding her appearance I can say is her hair looks a little disheveled in back, from laying flat too long after her hair net was removed and replaced—nothing a simple comb won’t fix.

 

Muffy’s box itself is where all the real flaws in this listing can be found:  A sweeping crease across the lid arcing from top to bottom corners, including a full crease/dent to the lower front and side of the box lid.  The lid and box respectively also show a LOT of friction abrasions resulting in the loss of color and graphics in a number places, including a few highpoints.  Auntie has marked a number of photos to point out the worst of the damage, but certainly not all of it.  Not a great choice for the Über-picky box collectors, certainly, but a fantastic specimen for just about any other Barbie or Silkstone aficionados out there.
