For sale are the Vest vintage Metallurgy books that you can find.

These are Very thorough comprehensive introductions and instructions to Matallurgy .

These are the original nostalagic book editions being much responsible for inspiring my subsequent career in teaching and research of working with metal. It is so well and clearly written with an ideal teaching approach.

I aquired these from a Actually metal worker him self ( His name is on all the books ) and worked on metal his whole life untill he passed away. He was a hard worker and was very good at his job, he traveled from from the united states to Mexico and work for several big companies. I was told He carried these books everywhere  he went and were apart of his life every time he needed a little knowledge.

First we have witch is the best and more expensive book of the bunch !!

1)  Introduction to Metallurgy A.H Cottrel Engineering Properties Of Metals  Publisher: Edward Arnold Publishers; 1st Edition Printing edition (196l)

2) The Making, Shaping and Treating of Steel by US Steel Camp & Francis 7th Ed 1957

3) Foundations of Iron and Steel Metallurgy Hardcover – Import, 1967 by W.H. Dennis (Author) Elsevier Publishing (1967) 1st ED

4) The Calculus [Paperback] [Jan 01, 1957] Oakley, C. O.

CONDITION : All the books are in over all good vintage condion , as you can imagine for being almost 60 years old. All the pages in the books are extra clean and a great shape,  very readable . They all have some type of cover wear or damage , they are intact to the binder but one does have some tips by the binder . One of book has the most wear , as I mentioned,  these books were carried around and used in real time work, looks like one of the books got few burn marks , but nothing major that will stop you from reading the books. Make sure to look at all the pictures as I tried to show everything described ok

-- If you want to attempt or even learn more about Metallurgy, Metal fabrication and what it takes to make metal then these books are a must have. Some of this information has been learned fairly recently, concerning the molecular composition of metals and the skills it has required to make the better metal for tools and military weapons through out mankind's history. This quest to gain useful metal working skills is now explained, where in the past this was just procedure and routines of the tasks of making really good quality steel was just observed information passed down from one generation to the next --

If you would like to understand the hows and whys of the development of the methods and skills of early metal working. Much of the information in this books has been acquired in years past by those people who discovered pieces of this knowledge over eons of time and was desired such that that men were stolen in wars to allow these nations to gain the knowledge of metal working skills for production of the quality steel used in the making of the the best swords, spear points and arrow heads of their time in history.

These books changed history by creating a firm foundation in the sciences of metallurgical thermodynamics, phase transformations and modern explanations of electronic and deformation behavior.

These books have the l basic metallurgical material and what it covers is just as timely as when it was written, about 50 years ago. It starts with atomic structure, chemical bonding and chapters on aspects of thermodynamics. Then there are chapters devoted to; steels, phase diagrams, crystal structures, mechanical properties, deformation, oxidation, corrosion, electronic properties and uses of metals. The material covered is basic and most suitable for an introductory metallurgy course. Even after 50 years these books hold their own with the newer books. These book is also a good choice for a mechanical, civil or electrical engineer who wishes to learn more about the basics of metallurgy.
