WW2 British Army 37 Ptn Webbing Map Case RAMC W.J. Mabey North Africa Burma Vet

Genuine map case originally owned by Lieutenant William James Mabey (325689) as part of his 37 pattern webbing battle order who served in the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) attached to the 1st Army in North Africa and Burma during the Second World War. The map case came with a group of items all owned by Lt W.J. Mabey which will be avaliable in my other items.

Lt W.J. Mabey was commissioned as an officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps Non-Medical Section. The undermentioned to be 2nd Lts.: — 15th July 1944:— William James MABEY (325689). Published in the London Gazette 25th August 1944, supplement 36673, page 3991.


Lt W.J. Mabey earned the following medals: 1939-1945 Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, Defence Medal and 1939-1945 War medal.



The map case is a good original example and complete with all hardware, buckles and straps etc. The interior of the pack features a faint manufacture stamp W&G Ltd (Waring & Gillow Limited) and dated 1944, British government issue broad arrow and the original owners name Lt Mabey RAMC to the exterior (see pictures).
