This is an orientalist signed watercolor.  I have been unable to read the signature but have it photographed for you to help identify.  This appears to be a street scene in Marrakech Morocco or similar.  The viewable area is 9 1/2" x 6 3/4" and matted 12" x  9".

There is a distinct reversed watercolor paper watermark that I figured out as Johannot Annonay The Johannot family came to Annonay in 1634 from Ambert in the Auvergne. When the brothers Mathieu and Barthélémy moved from Auvergne to Annonay, they bought a flour mill in the hamlet of Fayas and converted it to a paper mill.  At that time, the manufacture of paper involved collecting rags, then sorting, grading, and pounding them to a pulp using hammers driven by waterpower. Over time, the Johannot family made many improvements to this process. The mill at Fayas, and another nearby, remained in the Johannot family for more than 300 years, until 1936. In 1953, Johannot d’Annonay joined the Arches and Marais paper mills, and was soon after joined by Blanchet and Kléber of Rives, giving birth to the Arjomari Group (Arches, Johannot, Marais, and Rives). The Annonay buildings were then sold to Canson & Montgolfier, which, 20 years later, would also join the Arjomari Group.
