Just squeeze the ball,
put the sucker over the tube. Now lose the ball and by the extra vacuum
obtained, you can easily extract the tube in a professional manner. This is a
huge time saver. A very handy tool for vintage radio, amplifier and other
electronics repair. By using this tube puller , the technician is not only
protected from possible burns and high voltages, but it is a convenient method
for extracting tubes without bending the pins.

This special designed
tube extractor also works much better than gloves or a cloth, not only in
preserving the fragile silkscreen lettering and graphics on your rare and
expensive tubes, but also allows you to remove the tubes while they are still
hot. Even in ‘standby’, tube pins are sometimes still under dangerous
high-voltages, but with this special silicone rubber you are always safe.
When the tube is
removed, it remains firmly held in the puller due to the extra vacuum created
with the oval squeeze ball. The tube can therefore be expeditiously removed
from the socket without danger of the expensive tube dropping from the puller
after removal.
Glass breaking: oil from your skin can cause differential expansion or contraction of the glass making it break. Now you can protect your hand from the glass breaking if the tube is a bit stubborn and does not want to part company with the socket.
Tube rolling: tube rolling is the process of trying out a number of
tubes in the same spot in an amplifier and selecting the one that sounds best
to you. So this tool can be very helpful in optimizing the tone of the
amplifier. Tube rolling can give new life to an ordinary sounding amplifier.
