Six author signed hardcover children's books.  The author is Helena Clare Pittman.

(You will actually be receiving 8 books. There are two signed copies of "The Gift of the Willows" (photo 12) and a signed paperback by a different author mentioned at the bottom of this page)

Book conditions range from very good plus to fine. The majority were published by Carolhoda Books

There is soiling to the jacket of one of the copies of "The Gift of the Willows" with small nicks to the edges of the jackets of both copies.

There is some paper toning to the pages of all books.

That is the extent of the wear to the books

1- THE GIFT OF THE WILLOWS- There are two copies of this book (photo 12). The book was published in 1988 and the appear to be second printings. One of the two books has the author's bookplate signed and it appears that the bookplate  was placed over a prior note, maybe to someone else. The other copy has only a small nick at the top of the jacket at the spine and no other issues.

2- COUNTING JENNIS- Signed only "Helena" . This is a first printing 1994.

3- ONCE WHEN I WAS SCARED -illustrated by Ted Rand (photo 11). Published by Dutton in 1988. This appears to be a 4th printing. Small nick to top edge of jacket at front fold

4- THE ANGEL TREE- Dial Books. 1998. First printing. (photo 9)

5- GERALD- NOT- PRACTICAL- (photo 3) First printing 1990

6- A DINOSAUR FOR GERALD  - (photo 3) 2nd printing 1990- the blank end paper of this book has slightly darker toning

Also included is a small children's paperback titled "Jamie and the Ducks of August- A Tale of Decoys". Co-Written and signed by Charlotte Lockwood. Written by Helene Tischler but not signed by her.

A nice little collection of books by this Long Island based author of children's books, all signed by the author.

Pittman is an artist first and did most of the illustrating in these books.

Helena has taught Color, Illustration and Drawing at The Parsons School of Design; Design, Drawing and Life Drawing at The State University of New York at Farmingdale; Writing and Classroom Methods at The City University of New York, Queens College School of Graduate Education; and Painting, Drawing and Illustration at The Nassau County Museum of Art.

I utilize a third party shipper for international sales. Please note the actual shipping cost before purchasing. That is not my shipping fee and I neither receive it nor know what the amount is. Please do not commit to "buy it now" until you have seen the shipping amount that you will be charged. Thank you.

For International Buyers:  Media Mail shipments only. Please note that, although you are likely paying very high shipping costs to have this item sent to you, I am not charging those costs. In the case of books, I utilize "media mail" to get the box to the third party shipper. "Media mail" is a very SLOW speed mailing process reserved for books and records that are potentially very heavy. If you can not wait for my shipment to reach the third party shipper at a very slow pace, please contact me before purchasing and I can add a faster (and more expensive) alternative to the listing to get the item to the third party shipper.

MEDIA MAIL: The USPS allows books, records and other media to be mailed at a cheaper price than typical mail. It tends to be a much slower mailing process than standard mail. In addition, any employee of the USPS can open the package at ANY time for ANY reason to verify that what is inside is what should be inside. In most cases, the item is properly repackaged but, in rare cases, it is not and an item can arrive damaged. As my feedback suggests, I package very carefully. If you receive a damaged item that has the appearance of having been poorly packaged, please contact me prior to leaving feedback so that it can be addressed.
