In the past few years, many non-professional gospel singing groups have been formed. These groups travel evenings,

after their regular jobs, and on weekends to different parts of the country to spread the gospel in song and testimony.

One of these groups is the Melody Aires Quartet, a group of dedicated young people who travel many miles to spread the

gospel news.

The quartet includes Terry Meredity, a teen-age young man who adds much to the quartet, singing lead, alto and many

other musical talents. Terry’s sister, Yvonne Rish, sings alto, lead and sometimes, low tenor. Pearl Hensley, who

joined the group recently, adds high tenor and switches to lead many times. Rounding out the quartet is Dee Jay Rish,

Yvonne’s husband, who adds his smooth bass tones.

Patsy Garrett, a young teenager with much musical talent, adds musical accompaniment on piano and appears with the

Gospel Aires on most of their personal appearances. For the recording session, Terry Russell added his talented fingers

to lead guitar and the Reverend Leon Russell, pastor of the Gospel Light Mission, Kokomo, Indiana, played rhythm guitar.
