The notes of the May 22, 1777 Rhode Island issue had the primary purpose of relieving the shortage of small change currency. Printed with a minimalistic typeset design with blank backs. Scarce low denomination note, of the 15,000 originally printed, only 18 known to exist today. Very appealing example.
