Rare antique pieces. Each plate is 8 3/4" in diameter. Whimsical and light illustration style images of mothers and children. Back mark in red: Depose (enclosed in a rectangle: CREIL MONTEREAU B & Cie ) M. In addition, there is an incised number 2 and other lighter & smaller markings in ink; there is an old handwritten label pasted at the back of each plate  which reads: H A Balleroy  Limoges 1900 - 1910. There is ample iinformation about Henri & Antoine Balleroy who purchased a  porcelain factory in Limoges ca 1900. 
Creil-Montereau refers to the  region in North Central France as well as to the faience/earthenware derived from the white clay found there. Limoges is the production center of pottery and porcelain.
