In the 1960s, America had a population dominated by the idealistic youth -- the so-called baby boomers. Born to veterans of WWII, they grew up in fear of "The Bomb" and witnessed first the Korean Conflict and then scenes of the Vietnam War on television. Many baby boomers were "anti-war" and, because of their demographic power, their protests were very effective in bringing the Vietnam War to an end.
