Rose of Sharons are considered a bush, shrub, or small tree. They are very tolerant of extreme hot weather. They should be pruned in the Fall. They grow well in any soil including clay and are able to tolerate drought. Note: These séeds can be planted now. They should go through a process call stratification (cold weather) or put in a plastic bag and place in refrigerator until Spring.
