While the radio will give you hours of entertainment, I'd say the headphones, while unused, tested, and working, are mostly a display piece. It was cheap to begin with and is now 35 years old. The plastic won't last. Why would they make cheap headphones? Because it's the 80s and most Walkman style headphones were at the forefront of the planned obsolescence movement. They were made to not  last. Go to youtube and search my sister sam go crazy to see an episode of the 80s sitcom My Sister Sam where the subject is cheap 80s walkman headphones.
