~  MONUMENTAL, RARE Gustavsberg pottery work of art! Pottery footed platter/charger centerpiece. Signature turquoise green glaze with intricate silver overlay with swirl pattern in silver rings. Stunning patina with age. Silky finish. Designed by Wilhelm Kage (1889-1960). Wilhelm Kage was a well- known painter who trained under Henri Matisse. He started at Gustavsberg in 1917 and worked there as artistic direction until his retirement in 1949. His Argenta is one of his most famous & highly collectible designs. Kage’s works are displayed in the Museum of Modern Art, the MET, & many museums in Europe.
