William Holbrook Beard (1824–1900) was an American artist known for his humorous and satirical paintings, particularly those featuring anthropomorphic animals engaged in human activities. He was part of the artistic movement known as the Hudson River School and the American Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
Beard's paintings often depicted animals dressed in clothing and engaging in scenes that satirized various aspects of human society.
