With “Love Over Fear“ Pendragon have released
a sophisticated, very melodic and varied work in 2020. The album stands out due to
great compositions, production and performance. Stylistically the band has
returned to their sound of earlier years. The album has brilliant song structures
with symphonic, dynamic and harmonic parts and a rich orchestration. It shines
with strong, partly multi-layered vocal arrangements, excellent keyboard sounds
and masterly guitar work with stunning guitar solos.
According to statements of Nick Barrett this is a return to the strong melodies and dreamlike atmospheres that Pendragon were so well known for in the 90’s, with meaningful guitar solos, 12 string guitar sections, mellotron strings and very melodic keyboard parts.
New for Pendragon with “360 Degrees“ is an Irish type folk rock song which also features mandolin and violine.
The album was recorded at the Thin Ice Studios and in Sharlands Barn in Cornwall in excellent sound quality and produced by Nick Barrett and Karl Groom. The incredible artwork for “Love Over Fear“ was actually painted with real paints by an artist from Cornwall.

Mit “Love Over Fear“ haben Pendragon 2020 ein anspruchsvolles, sehr melodisches und abwechslungsreiches Werk vorgelegt. Das Album zeichnet sich durch großartige Kompositionen, Produktion und Performance aus. Darauf ist die Band stilistisch zu ihrem Sound früherer Jahre zurückgekehrt. Es hat brilliante Songstrukturen mit symphonischen, dynamischen und harmonischen Abschnitten und ist sehr reichhaltig instrumentiert. Es besticht durch starke, teils mehrstimmige Gesangspassagen, exzellente Keyboardsounds und meisterhafte Gitarrenarbeit mit umwerfenden Gitarrensoli.
Laut Aussagen von Nick Barrett ist dies eine Rückkehr zu den starken Melodien und traumhaften Stimmungen, für die Pendragon in den 90er Jahren so bekannt waren, mit Einsatz gehaltvoller Gitarrensoli, 12-String-Gitarren, Mellotron-Strings und sehr melodischen Keyboards.
Neu für Pendragon ist mit “360 Degrees“ ein stimmungsvoller, folk-rockiger Song mit irischem Einschlag, auf dem auch eine Mandoline und Violine zum Einsatz kommen.

Soundqualität aufgenommen und von Nick Barrett und Karl Groom produziert. Das
wunderbare Artwork wurde mit echter Farbe von einer Künstlerin in Cornwall gemalt.
Diese CD
