We are selling this very early Italian school landscape painting. This Oil on Canvas painting appears to be 16th or very early 17th century. The painting appears to be of the mythological story of Mercury slaying Argus in a large wooded landscape scene with figures in the background.
Condition: Canvas is in rough condition with heavy craquelure and crazing. Has been re-lined with many old repairs to the canvas. Some areas of paint loss and flaking.
