Jim Woodring’s The Lute String / PRESSPOP

This is a rare one off edition published by Press Pop Gallery for the sake of an exhibition held in Japan. It was published in different colors, (day-glo pink/fuschia & orange) this being the green edition which is much harder to come by from my experience.

Despite this being a Japanese edition, the story inside is classic Woodring, using no words to tell his surreal and wonderful story.

Condition: Overall very good condition. The glossy cover is prone to smudges and dust clinging to it but wipes clean easily. Crisp corners but pages do show aging to the paper. Inner covers are full color.

Binding is very tight on this book, having used sewn & perfect binding (glue combined with thread: see pics) and I have always hesitated to really pry it open wide ever since I got it so many years ago. Its time to find it a new home. I will always love Jim Woodring’s sublime and original work.
