The Nissan Figaro was factory equipped with A/C as a standard option. Re-Gassing the Nissan Figaro A/C has always been problematic as originally the Figaro’s A/C system used R12 gas. Due to the damage caused to the ozone layer, R12 gas was discontinued many years ago and was replaced with R134A, a more ozone friendly variant. In order to re-gas the system, adapter valves for both the high pressure and low pressure sides of the system must be fitted and a weight of 600g of R134a gas is to be filled once the original system has been evacuated and vacuum tested. These valve adapters allow for an easy conversion without the need to change any other parts of the system.

The r134a gas must be filled by a qualified a/c technician at a garage for accuracy as the system can be easily over pressurised causing catastrophic issues so as such is not designed to be filled by the home user using compressed cans of a/c r134a available from motorist centres and r12 is illegal to be released intentionally into the atmosphere. Original valve centres must be removed to install the new valves.
