ABOUT OUR JOURNEY
We are a small business consisting of just a husband and wife team working out of a
small workshop at the base of the peak district.
Richard's dream was to own his own woodworking business making affordable wooden furniture and home accessories,
this dream was achieved in 2014.
After being made redundant in late 2013, he found a part time job as a baggage handler at Manchester Airport and used the rest of his time designing a range of solid wood chalkboards and A Boards.
This range was added to regularly with a selection of affordable solid wood furniture where custom made is at the heart.
Our wood merchants is just a 3 minutes drive from the workshop,
each piece of wood is chosen by hand to ensure the best quality is used.
We use traditional wood working techniques that will last the test of time, each piece of wood is hand stained, waxed and polished before being checked and shipped.
Every item is made to order which gives our customers total control over colours, sizes and styles they desire.
Richard's wife Laura is the admin / office person! - Juggling a part time job, looking after their 4 year old daughter, Annabelle and in the evening doing all the admin work involved with running a small business.
Each order is special to us as it takes us one step closer to extending our business, employing local tradesmen and eventually joining a local apprentice programme.
