Commodus silver denarius, 177-192 A.D., R.S.C.-966, R.I.C.-160, 17 mm diameter, 2.6 gm. The obverse shows laureat bust of Commodus to the right. The legend shows "M. COMM. ANT. P. FEL. AVG. BRIT. ". The reverse shows Virtus, in military dress, standing left, holding Victory, resting left hand on a oval shield, and a spear rest against the left arm. Both sides shows various shades of natural silver color and gray tones. Strong portrait detail of Commodus on the obverse and good design detail visible on the reverse.
