This is a listing for a Vintage FOSTORIA glass Patriotic item produced leading up to the country's Bicentennial. This comes with its presentation box and leaflet. This comes from the limited edition of 6 different oval plates titled "American Milestones". This series of plates were only in production for 1 year and the molds destroyed on December 31st of that year This is the 5th edition from 1975 being titled "Shrine of Democracy" with the depiction of Mount Rushmore with George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. This title is on the plate as well as "Founding, Expansion, Preservation, Unification". The Fostoria name and 1975 are embossed as well. The center has been sandblasted to create a frosted decoration and the edge remains clear. They also added a light mother of pearl iridized rainbow finish. This was made by the Fostoria Glass Company in Moundsville, West Virginia, USA.
This is in very nice vintage condition and the box shows some age and handling marks. .
